About
Alexander (he/him) is a community builder committed to efforts that renew, recenter and reimagine. Over the years, this has taken many forms, making it virtually impossible for loved ones to answer the question “what exactly does Alexander do?” with any degree of confidence.
Alexander is the founder of Past Futures, a social change agency supporting those radically reimagining the status quo. This new chapter comes after serving as Senior Reconciliation Consultant for Bank Australia, where he helped to support a renewal of its reconciliation strategy.
Prior to his move to Naarm, Alexander served as the Director of Programs + Community Accountability at Community Knowledge Exchange (CKX). He has served in advisory capacities with the City of Vancouver, Simon Fraser University and the Vancouver Foundation, and as a board member of Apathy is Boring. A public speaker and writer, his work has most recently appeared in “Citizenship in a Connected Canada” by University of Ottawa Press. He’s also the author of the Substack newsletter “I’m New Here,” that explores grounding and connection in changing times. And if you’re expecting to see his pixellated face on Zoom and he’s not there, he’s probably out somewhere on his bicycle.
Born and raised on the unceded territories of the Nlaka’pamux Peoples, Alexander is a proud member of Métis Nation BC. He is currently based in Naarm.
